Jewell Treats

In 2011, I decided to take a few cake decorating classes to prepare for my youngest daughter’s first birthday. I have always enjoyed cooking, but had never tried my hand at baking until then. That whole exercise of using exact recipes and relearning science and math to get the measurements and the outcome right just seemed tedious to me!

I warmed up to baking after taking a few Wilton classes and, at the time, it was a great way to keep my mind off the stress of the economy and my inability to find a new career after years in the mortgage industry. But it was no big deal… Baking was just going to be my hobby, or so I thought!

My daughter’s first birthday party was a huge success, and our guests were truly impressed. After the party, I began to get more calls for cupcake orders than job offers!  So, I began to do some research, and I learned that the cupcake business was the new phenomenon.  I was living in Atlanta at the time, and there seemed to be a cupcakery popping up on almost every corner. When I visited the Charlotte area, I noticed the cupcake market wasn't nearly as saturated as it was back home. The Queen City needed some cupcakes!

In 2012, I moved my family to Charlotte and started Jewell Treats. Now I use my mortgage sales expertise for something new -- building my own business! I love putting smiles on people’s faces as they enjoy my cupcakes, and knowing that I’m serving them something with no artificial ingredients puts a smile on my face!

Jewell Treats Natural Cupcakes are unlike anything you’ll find at your local grocery store or bake shop. Jewell Treats are handcrafted from time-honored, natural ingredients; things your Grandma used in her cupcakes, and the very reason they were so delicious! You don’t need a chemistry degree to decipher a Jewell Treats recipe. I use the finest natural ingredients, like sweet cream butter, bittersweet Belgian chocolate, pure Madagascar Bourbon vanilla, pure Tahitian vanilla, fresh bananas and carrots, natural citrus zest, and real strawberries from right here in North Carolina.

If you're interested in giving your family and friends a treat you can feel good about, you can place your cupcake order by phone or email, or just come on in and get your cupcakes at our SouthPark Mall kiosk.

Thanks, and I look forward to baking for you!
